It’s that time of year and my Senior Portrait Sessions are filling up. I hope you are excited for your Senior Photos…I know I am! I’ve created this page to help answer your questions and give you direct access to registering for your senior photography session this summer or fall now before it’s taken.

FAQ’S
1. HOW DOES THE HAIR AND MAKEUP WORK?
I’m so proud to offer my clients a professional hair and makeup experience. It really elevates the final images, and is such a fun addition to make your experience extra special.
I take my artist’s fee of $125 out of your session retainer. Note: If you are registering for your session before June, I might be running a promo on this 🙂
We’ll start your session a the studio with about an hour of hair and makeup, followed by a few photos in studio before we head out on location.
2. DO YOU OFFER DIGITAL FILES
YES! Digital Files can be purchased A La Carte or at a discount when you pair them with an Album, Wall Art Piece, or Video. We also back-up all images you purchase just in case your computer crashes somewhere down the line.
3. DO YOU RETOUCH IMAGES?
You bet I retouch everything. All digital files include a standard retouch to correct for color balance, color tone, and exposure. Any image purchased inside an Album or Wall Art piece gets a Signature Retouch, which includes skin,eyes,teeth, hair retouching, background object removal if needed, and any other creative editing. For headshots, each digital image purchase will get a full Signature Retouch and can include a transparent background if you’d like as well. If you need something specific just ask!
4. DO YOU SHOOT ON LOCATION?
Of course I shoot on location all the time. We live near gorgous parks, cities, and outdoor spaces, and I’m happy to recommend locations for you. My studio is steps away from downtown Excelsior, the lake, the beach, and the park. I often start or end at a client’s home for an extra personal touch to your images. If you’d like your session to be outside the Twin Cities area let’s chat.
5. DO YOU OFFER WARDROBE AND STYLING?
I don’t have a studio wardrobe to offer clients (yet) but am happy to discuss ideas and make recommendations for you. I can also recommend rental services and help you choose what to wear. If you’d like to book a stylist for your shoot, I know some fabulously talented professionals in the Twin Cities who can help you really put those pieces together.
6. HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I HAVE?
For a typical High School Senior girl session we can usually fit about 4-5 outfits in. I also recommend to layer with jackets and hats/accessories so we can get more variety per outfit. For the High School guys, that could be 3-4 outfits. If you have a mini session I would recommend a max of 3 outfits but more like 1-2. We can definately chat about this during your Planning Session and plan out what wardrobe we’ll pair with a background or location.
7. HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO INVEST?
I have a variety of packages at various price points in order to offer something for everyone. If you keep scrolling, I have listed the investment in my most popular packages and products. I do require a retainer to hold your session date, and that will be applied toward your final order. During your planning session we will look over our investment guide and you’ll have a chance to touch and hold sample products!
8. BUT I'M NOT PHOTOGENIC!
It’s completely normal to be nervous or abrehensive in front of a camera. When you hire a professional (like me!) please know that you’re not just hiring a fancy camera and lens. You are also hiring someone with the experience and knowledge to make sure you are comfortable and having fun. My main objective is to show you how beautiful you really are, inside and out.
I study how to pose different body shapes & sizes, how to create flattering light, how to choose clothing that will look amazing, and how to retouch those suspect areas. You are here for quality in the experience and in the final product, just like you would when purchasing a designer handbag or high-end piece of furniture.

HOW TO BOOK
There are two ways to book your session. First, you can book your session online now to make sure you get a date on the calendar before it’s gone! Second, you can schedule a discovery call with me and I can answer any questions you have, and when you’re ready I can get you on the books!
A session retainer of $495 is required to book all sessions. If you book hair and makeup, a $150 fee will go toward our artists and the remainder will be applied to your order. If there is no hair and makeup, the full amount will be applied to your order.

new! senior mini sessions
New for Class of 2023! Senior Mini sessions are a focused 60 minute session that starts and ends at the Studio right downtown Excelsior, and includes a few photos inside the studio and a few photos outside. Our outside photos can be anywhere within walking distance of my studio – which is most of downtown Excelsior or out in the Commons by Lake Minnetonka.
Included in the $495 session fee are 5 hand-retouched digital files. You’ll be able to choose your 5 favs from an online gallery of 25+ images. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional digitals, wall art, prints or albums just like my regular senior sessions.
Dates Offered: Mon 8/22, Tues 8/23, Mon 8/29 between 2pm-7pm
Cost: $495
Includes: 5 Hand-Retouched Digital Files
Does not Include: Printed products such as albums, Wall art, and prints. Those can be purchased additionally.

FAQ's
Here are a few common questions I get about adding Hair & Makeup to your Senior Session! If there is something I haven’t answered, please get in touch!
What if I want to look natural?
I think sometimes when I say “professional hair and makeup” people think of an over-the-top glammed up look. Although we can certainly do that, tpically it’s the opposite.
Getting your makeup professionally done helps provide you with an even skin tone, hides blemishes, subtly accentuates your natural features, and helps give a fresh dewy look to your photos. We are not going heavy handed on the eyes, blush and contouring at all. Same with the hair, we aim for a style that’s natural for you. We want you to look like the best “you” in your images, not a completely different person! My two HMUA’s work as professional commercial artists, so they have years of experience making the face look beautiful and natural on camera.
You’ll also have a chance to ask for changes before we start shooting, so you can speak up if you’d like something modified.
Who is Hair & Makeup for?
Our hair & makeup is non-gender specific and for EVERYONE. Anyone who wants to feel pampered, have an extra fun experience, and elevate the final look of thier photos should add hair & makeup to their senior session. We work with amazing artists who have experience with all skin/hair types, colors, and preferences.
When and where do I get it done?
Let me know once you’ve booked your session that you’d like to add hair & makeup. I’ll schedule my HMUA to arrive at the start of your session. The process typically takes 45-60 minutes, and then we’ll start photographing you once you’re set.
How much does it cost?
Once you’ve paid your $495 session retainer, the $150 HMUA fee will come out of that, leaving $345 to go toward your purchase of packages, digitals, and products.
How many looks do I get?
We typically do 1 look, but if you’d like my HMUA to do more than one look we can certainly arrange for that. For example, we might start with a very light & natural makeup style and then go back for a more glam style during the second part of our shoot. There might be an additional cost for added time.
